Since its reopening in June 2017, the historic Renthof Kassel has been home to a modern boutique hotel with exclusive gastronomy, bar and several individual event locations. For this contemporary use, the building, originally built in 1298 as a Carmelite monastery, has been completely renovated in accordance with the preservation order and with the architecture and history of the building being preserved. Today the house offers a unique atmosphere, which is characterized by the interaction of the historical basic elements and the modern design of the interior, which was individually and carefully selected by the owners themselves for each part of the building. Each of the 55 guest rooms and suites of the Renthof is unique in format and furnishings. Within the building we distinguish three wings, each of which follows a stylistic idea. While the furnishing of the rooms in the east wing is characterized by elements and colors of the 1960s, the south wing reflects its time of origin in the 18th century. Here, classical restrained elements and colors playfully take on the elegant lines of this epoch. English stylistic elements dominate the west wing, in which strong color accents, wallpaper decor and accessories are in the foreground.
